The Portugal Basketball Festival 2025 powered by NBN23 is fast approaching, and this year we’re proud to welcome over 40 teams from 9 different countries, gathering in Lisbon for a unique weekend of basketball, culture and connection. These teams represent not only high-level competition but also the diversity and spirit that define this international event.
From the United States, we are honoured to welcome back SAWUSA, a team composed of standout collegiate athletes. Now in their fifth consecutive appearance, they bring intensity, athleticism and leadership to the court, serving as role models for rising players across age groups.
Travelling from the Bahamas, Blazer Elite brings an exciting and energetic style of play, showcasing Caribbean basketball talent on a European stage. Their participation marks a growing bridge between Atlantic basketball cultures.
Representing Canada, CM Sports Basketball joins us with a dynamic and well-coached roster that reflects the country’s rising status in youth development. Alongside them, DKH Basket brings grit and collective spirit, further enriching the North American presence at the Festival.
From Denmark, the experienced and disciplined Hørsholm 79ers return as one of the most respected names on the European youth circuit. They are joined by Basketball Star Academy, whose players are eager to gain international exposure and challenge themselves against top talent from across the continent.
Our neighbours from Spain will be represented by ADC Baloncesto Cáceres, a strong club known for its player development and technical quality. Their participation continues the vibrant Iberian rivalry, played here in the spirit of fair play and friendship.
Flying in from France, AOS Academy arrives as defending U17 champions and one of the most technically gifted teams in the tournament. They are joined by 100% Basket, an academy committed to youth progression and international competition.
Belgium brings a strong delegation, including Aste Kain, a club with a growing reputation in youth training, and the ambitious Elite Basket Academy, whose presence underscores the depth of basketball talent in the region.
The United Kingdom will be well represented by the Calderdale Explorers, a proud grassroots club with a rich tradition, and the Spelthorne Eagles, who bring athleticism and sharp competitive focus to the tournament atmosphere.
As hosts, Portugal is represented across all categories, with clubs such as Quinta dos Lombos, Odivelas, Santarem Basket, and CDTN-OAB offering the best of national talent. These teams bring passion, commitment and a strong sense of identity, proudly showcasing the quality of Portuguese youth basketball on home ground.
Each team will compete in a minimum of four matches, beginning with group stages on Saturday and followed by placement games and finals on Sunday. But beyond the court, the Festival provides a space for athletes to build friendships, discover new cultures, and celebrate the values of sport in a vibrant and inclusive setting.
This diverse and exciting roster reflects what the Portugal Basketball Festival is all about: international connection, sporting excellence, and unforgettable human moments.
But these aren’t all the teams. To discover the full list, follow us on Instagram @portugalbasketballfestival or come experience the energy in person at our Lisbon venue on June 28–29.
